VOL. 20 No.4

Serving the Stoney Creek Community

UPDATED 01-24-2012

Station Diner SOLD OUT.. Union Hotel & Majestic Theatre still available

WELCOME - My name is Roger Malinowski. In years gone by, I have written numerous articles for the "NARROW GAUGE AND SHORT LINE GAZETTE," have built a few notable layouts and have done design work for other manufacturers. In 1994 I decided to manufacture my own product line under the name of "STONEY CREEK DESIGNS." My intent is to build quality 1/4" scale structure kits at a fair price. The kits are first released at the "NATIONAL NARROW GAUGE CONVENTION." They are limited production and sell out very fast. I do take reservations for up
coming products. NO Deposit is necessary, just a firm commitment . Contact me for additional details

Stoney Creek on Face Book- I finally did a page on Facebook for Stoney Creek Designs. I thought this would be good way to communicate with other modelers. Post pictures of my layout as work progresses and show updates of new products. So, please, stop by, have a look, leave a comment and let me know what you think. You don't  need to join Facebook to visit the SCD page.

UP COMING EVENT I will be attending the Midwest Narrow Gauge show in Canfield OHIO on March 22-24 . In addition to my SCD products, I recently cleaned house, and will have loads of bits and pieces. I mean loads, 4 tables full of kits and parts. Everything from older kits (not SCD) left over kits parts, airbrushes, wood, plastic parts, parts, parts and more parts. This should be a scratch builders delight. Also, I will be doing a demo/clinic on the techniques and material I used to build my layout. I'll be building a 18"x24" module which will be given away at the end of the show.

Old Stoney Creek KITS - I had mentioned here that I found a number of old SCD kits. I completely underestimated how many people still wanted them. Did I get emails? Geez, did I.. Not sure when or if I will be selling them. Reason? Not sure how or at what price...

On30 turnouts - I have a few On30 #6 and #4 turnouts for sale. All are brand new, never installed and professionally built.

Dr. Mikes - The glue I use and recommend for ALL my kits. Don't forget to order a bottle when paying for or ordering a kit.

On-line Payments - The PayPal buttons seem to be working well for most people. I am using PayPal's shopping cart. So, you can pay via your PayPal account or use your credit card. Any problems let me know.

2012 UPDATE As I've said before, on this page, I am doing a 2 story commercial brick and stone building for 2012. Footprint is 12" long and 5" deep. I'm well into creating the masters and, I must say, this could be some of my best stone and brick I have ever done and wait till you see the level of architectural detail. I realize some modelers might not have room for, or want a building this long. So, I'm only making 50 of them. However, I am making another kit using the same stone walls and details. This will be a single retail store with a footprint of only 5" x 6". I will only be making 50 of these as well.

Hotel Since the newest Gazette ad, the Station Diner is sold out. There is still a few Hotels remaining. When ordering payment can be via the PayPal button on the ORDER page, by check, or by credit card (must call). You can determine your shipping cost on the SHIPPING page.

2013 Though I didn't get much feedback on the mine idea, I think I am going to go ahead with it. My idea is a small gold or silver type of mine (could be coal or whatever) with a vertical shaft so you don't need a hill side to set it on. Small footprint with lots of support structures, mine office, tool shed, miners cabin, dynamite shed, etc. Would love to hear some thoughts on this.

About Reservations - You can reserve a kit any time, with no money down. Even long before there are any pictures or prices posted, a lot of people do. That gives me an idea about demand and helps determine, to some degree, how many I will produce. Once the pilot model is built I will post pictures and the price. At this time I will email everyone who has reserved a kit that details have been posted. At this point if it is not to your liking, too big, too expensive, whatever, this is the time to cancel. If I don't hear from you I will assume you will take the kit when issued. I totally understand unforeseen circumstances. I'm just asking, if at all possible, try not to wait till the kit is in the box and I'm ready to ship to cancel your reservation.
