I honestly hardly know where to start with this model. The kit is based on a model built by UK modeler Nick Ogden. Nick built his model for the contest at the Durango NG Convention 2 or 3 years ago. When Nick brought it by my table for a show and tell I knew right away this would make a fantastic kit. I was itching to get back to doing brick/stone buildings and this was just the design to to do just that. Nick kindly agreed and, well, here ya go. I stayed pretty true to Nicks design aside from adding the crane and a few other details. There is a ton of detail and packed into a 11"x13" area. Unbelievably compact. I do have some options available. Such as, a 1/2" homasote base and an On3 conversion. Scroll

Since I model in On30 the pilot model was built in that scale. However for you On3 guys I will have a option to convert the yard to three foot gauge. It also occurred to me while building the pilot model that unless you are building this in place on your layout, which is unlikely, it would be nice to have a 1/2" homasote base just like I used. Therefore, I decided to offer this as a very handy option. The laser scribes will help you accurately position every piece in the kit. This base is 11" x 13". |
